Year End Letter 2024

Dear Friends,

There is the story of the grandfather who asked his two granddaughters what they wanted for Christmas. Their answer: “Give us a world.” They were asking for a globe. So, the grandfather went shopping, found a globe, and gave it to the girls Christmas morning. As they opened the gift, they seemed disappointed. He asked, “Did you want a different kind of globe?” One of the girls said, “Yes, we were hoping for a lighted world.” The grandpa replied, “I can fix that!” He returned the globe and purchased a lighted world in place of the dark one. The girls were delighted. Following this, his wife asked him if he had learned anything from this experience. He answered, “Yes! I learned that a lighted world costs more!”

“A Lighted World.” There is a sense in which these words connect with Warren Apologetics Center. They are a reminder of the figures of light and darkness implied in one of the most foundational, pivotal biblical texts. “For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For His invisible attributes, namely His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So, they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks to Him, but they became futile in their thinking and their foolish hearts were darkened” (Romans 1:19-21).

The darkness of all types of unbelief cannot ultimately overpower the light of the everlasting power and deity of God perceived since the creation of the world. As Thomas B. Warren says in the historic publication, The God Question: A Critique of Atheism: “The truth of the matter is: Neither philosophers, natural scientists, nor any one else can prove that God does not exist. There is no way that any man can escape completely from the evidence of the existence of God (Psalm 19:1-5; 139:14; Romans 1:18-31)” (31).

We do not live in a man-made globe. You and I live in the God created world. “The God who made the world and everything in it . . . [who] has fixed a day in which He will judge the world . . . through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead “(Acts 17:24, 31).

As the Warren Center continues to affirm and defend the Christian worldview while aiming to challenge the growing global influence of atheistic thought, we continue to need your moral, spiritual, and financial support. “A lighted world costs more!” We look forward to receiving your year end, tax-deductible contribution to this valuable work. Thank you for helping us light the world through our publications.

Sincerely,
